KNOLL Maschinenbau – about the company
The KNOLL Maschinenbau GmbH has been developing, producing and selling machines and systems for a wide range of industries since 1970 and is the leading supplier of conveyor systems, filter systems and pumps for metalworking. They transport and separate chips and cooling lubricants. Another division solves demanding logistics tasks with assembly and transport systems.
The project
KNOLL Maschinenbau was looking for a solution for processing orders within SAP. Manual processes were to be reduced so that the sales department could once again focus more on active customer support. The cooperation with the flowDOCS project team was always constructive, pleasant and completely smooth.
OUTPUT SITUATION
KNOLL Maschinenbau was struggling with long processing times for orders and a high level of manual effort. The previous search for the right debtor was also very time-consuming. Since KNOLL Maschinenbau was already using the flowDOCS Solutions invoiceLINE & confirmationLINE and was very satisfied with them, the company turned to us to introduce a solution for the automated processing and storage of customer orders in the SAP ECC 6.0 environment.
Project goals
KNOLL Maschinenbau wanted to digitize and simplify processes and improve response times to customers in order to meet market requirements. The company was looking for a solution that would recognize the data on the orders without errors and enable the automated recording of orders. The success factors of the project therefore included a high degree of automation, a noticeable simplification of the process and reliable OCR data recognition.
Project description
At the beginning, a detailed concept including implementation guidelines was developed together with the flowDOCS team as part of a workshop, which defined the basis for the scope of the implementation. This paved the way for the project start for the introduction of orderingLINE. As most orders at KNOLL Maschinenbau are sent by e-mail, mailHANDLERpdf was implemented, which enables incoming customer orders to be processed in PDF format. The extended recognition technology for item recognition was developed on the basis of customer documents. Finally, train-the-trainer courses and administrator training were held to ensure that employees are optimally prepared for the new systems.
Customer feedback about the project
KNOLL Maschinenbau was extremely satisfied with the course of the project and the results achieved. With the introduction of orderingLINE, the initial project goals and requirements were completely fulfilled. The schedule was consistently adhered to over the entire duration of the project, and the personal contact persons from flowDOCS were available at all times.
The added value of our solution
Significantly reduced order processing time and therefore faster feedback to customers
Less manual work and therefore more time for value-adding activities
Easier & automated search for the right debtor
The previous search for the right debtor alone was very time-consuming. The orderingLINE takes almost 100% of this work off our hands. We have also been able to significantly reduce the processing time for orders. This means we can give our customers feedback on their orders even faster than before.
